Performing Arts Poem

Hours before the sun rose,

they watched the stars blur, shine, and glow,

falling in and out of existence

for the stars rarely come in abundance

and it was time to watch the eternal supply

of dreams dispersed among the sky.

They were simply existing through empty thoughts

and endless sighs.

Together, they dreamt of a day in Neverland.

Here, bad thoughts were evil and therefore banned.

From this point in time, nothing mattered—

nothing except the idealistic idea of forever.

They promised not to leave, not once, not ever.

But just as they found their way to paradise,

reality came, asking for a price.

Their world was watered down by the misery;

the depths of their world became a memory
